Here we have all our students focus change makers:
Estella Fernlund ~ Aika Tsubota, Aika made a comic book to help people with environment awareness. Sadly, a week after Aika was finished with the book a blood vessel popped in her brain.
Aleia Dela Cuadra ~ Cassandra Lin, She and her friends started a recycling program called T.G.I.F. where they donated grease and it gets turned into fuel to heat homes of the need.
Alexia Nava ~ Louis Braille, One day when Louis was playing in his father's shop,Louis injured his eye. That inspired him to create a form of writing and reading for the blind.
Jolyna Heng ~ Jean- Dominic Levesque- Rene,
This boy banned poisonous pesticides from Montreal, which made a new law.
Sneha Kollu ~ Jessica Rees, Jessica Rees was diagnosed with a brain tumor and everyday she would go to the hospital and come back.one day after she came back from the hospital she asked when will the other kids from the hospital come back.She found out it might take few days so she made joy jars for the kids who had this kind of cancer to brighten their day.
Ashley Capuyan ~ Rachel Wheeler, She heard about the conditions in Haiti and that had made a huge impact on her so she started raising money. She ended up.
Anthony Willis ~ Divine Bradley, He opened up a community center for young people because he saw a lack of safe places on the streets.
Sarina Kuninaga ~ Ryan Hreljac, Ryan’s class learned that a lot of kids in Uganda didn’t have access to clean water and often got diseases from drinking the water that they walked three miles, both ways, to gather for their families. He decided he wanted to raise money so he did chores for a long time.
Taylor McClurg ~ Katie Davis, When Katie was 18 she went to Uganda and adopted 13 young girls because they didn’t have families. She then created a non-profit organization called Amazima which means truth in the native language. The organization wants to meet the physical and emotional and spiritual needs of those in Uganda that need it most. She started a feeding program to the community providing meals to 12,000 children.
Trinity Conner ~ Ruby Bridges, When Ruby was 4 years old her family relocated to to New Orleans, Louisiana. When she was 6 her parents responded to a request from NAACP and volunteered her to participate in the integration of the New Orleans school system.
Evette Gonzalez ~ Mary Grace Henry, Mary Grace noticed that some people weren’t able to go to school. She made head bands and sold them at school and the library. When she had enough money she sent it to a school in uganda and was able to send 2 girls to high school.
Ciro Gutierrez ~ Rodney Mullen, that he was the the godfather of free skating.he created lots of new tricks. then he learn how to skate in garage.
Pablo Sandoval ~ Fatema Begum, Fatema was working in awful conditions in a match factory. Later,as a teenager, Fatema works as a teacher who inspires to learn and achieve better futures.
